Gray House

Location: St Andrews

Architect: Gareth Hoskins

Construction Value: £1.1 million

Situated on the edge of the St. Andrews Conservation Area. This timber, glass and rendered dwelling with timber clad garage was slotted into a long narrow gapsite with existing houses either side.

Hoskins Architects integrated the external paved finished into internal spaced with large sliding doors and pond to the real. The design ensured a very highly insulated building with high air tightness values to minimise the energy consumption. Solar PV Panels were positioned in the centre of the flat roofs to minimise the aesthetic impact. The private client was very happy with the end product.

The numerous design changes including addition of the pond and garage were well managed ensuring value for money as well as meticulous level of finish
