Bringing together two separate buildings through an extension will require serious consideration be given to the overall image of the new centre. Therefore the exterior of the building highlights that there is an attempt to create a single image, rather that multiple facades. The extension has been considered within the context of the re-cladding of Possil Point, helping to create a friendlier appearance. The external spaces have been considered as part of the overall proposal, and have a significant role to play in the perception and success of the project, thus reinforcing the connection to the street and the community beyond. The potential new build and refurbishment process of the First Centre
and Possil Point is very exciting for the community and those individuals
currently using the facilities. However it is important to view the
new proposal as a brand new venture and not just an amalgamation of two
existing facilities.
