As indicated, the design emphasis has been placed on the idea of joining the two buildings together, rather than simply extending the 1st Centre.

This is considered important, to ensure that the overall perception of the surrounding
community is of the creation of a new and improved entity and not the takeover of the
community centre by the First Forum

The proposed facility aims to provide a centre that is fully accessible to all within the
community. The new centre aims to provide an unified design that:

• Provides an integrated facility for all people within the community.
• A unified exterior creating a single image.
• A clearly defined use of external spaces for sports, relaxation and community
  enjoyment i.e. gardens.
• A community facility that will raise the profile of the local community
