The Site
It is generally accepted that sites can consist of nine Five-a-Sides and
one Seven-a-Side astro turf soccer pitches surrounded by specially designed
kickboard fencing and state of the art flood lighting. There will be a
Pavilion Building which will house office and computer equipment as well
as provide showers and changing rooms together with food and drinks located
in a café bar or from vending machines. Adequate car parking facilities
will always be provided.
The Community
For the local community the complex can provide a high calibre safe, supervised,
all weather, soccer centre. Leagues can develop bringing together all
the various factions of the community in a competitive fun, low contact
sport. “Soccer 5’s” leagues can contain local community
teams of both sexes, police departments, fire departments, youth centre
teams, education centre teams etc.. The centre can help the community
to bind together through sport.
The Network
The development of Soccer Complexes within various communities will allow
for networking events to other communities. From this inter city competitions
will grow and this will lead to national competitions. The potential for
National Soccer Academies at youth level utilising the Soccer 5’s
is a very real possibility.
